Energy Saving Projects

Council is investing in a greener future through a $1.7M commitment to energy saving projects over the next two years.

Investment in Energy Savings Projects will deliver numerous benefits for the city including a reduced reliance on gas and electricity by slashing energy usage through smarter technology and utilising the free energy of the sun.

The five parts to the Energy Savings Projects are:

  • Civic Centre Lighting Upgrade
  • WWCC Solar Project
  • Tarcutta Truck Stop Lighting Upgrade
  • Museum Energy Savings Project
  • Airport Energy Savings Project

These five projects are funded and delivered by Wagga Wagga City Council.

Wagga Wagga City Council has worked with the NSW Government Office of Environment and Heritage to develop technical specifications and solutions.

    Estimated annual savings are $56,000.

    Install solar photovoltaic and LED lighting at the Museum of the Riverina, (Botanic Gardens Site) in conjunction with the current redevelopment project.

    Expected Completion - Spring 2021


    Project - Energy Savings at the Wagga Wagga Airport

    Solar photovoltaic and lighting upgrade at the airport terminal building. The final scope of works will be based on the Airport Master Plan.

    Expected Completion - 2021


    Project - Lighting upgrade at the Tarcutta Truck Stop
