Planning Framework Review

The City of Wagga Wagga is undertaking a landmark Planning Framework Review, including the Local Environmental Plan (LEP), Development Control Plan (DCP) and Development Contribution Plans (including Section 94, Section 94A and Section 64).

In April 2016, City of Wagga Wagga General Manager Alan Eldridge announced the formation of Council's Planning Task Force.

The Task Force was put in place to prioritise and fast track the review of Council's planning framework.

Preliminary engagement was undertaken by the Task Force to gain an understanding of the gaps within the current framework. The engagement took place with representatives from the former Planning Advisory Committee as well as internal stakeholders and Councillors.

This consultation helped shape the scope of the Planning Task Force, which was adopted through a report to Council on 30 May 2016.

More information on the committments outlined in the report can be read on the Planning Framework Review webpage.

To date, the Planning Taskforce has been working on the strategic components of the Framework Review. Consultation gathered on a number of important regional and state community and planning reports will also be used to inform the new planning documentation.

The Framework Review website will provide industry and community stakeholders updates on the progress of the review, which is being coordinated by Council's Planning Task Force.

There will be opportunities to be involved at different times throughout the project. Register your interest on the webpage to be kept up to date on the project's progress and any upcoming topics of discussion.
