Planning Proposal LEP20/0005 is being conducted in support of the Wagga Wagga Special Activation Precinct Master Plan. The Master Plan has recently been the subject of public exhibition and engagement activities conducted by the NSW Government Department of Planning, Industry and Environment. The aim of this planning proposal is to reduce the extent of potential future land use conflict arising at boundary areas of the Wagga Wagga Special Activation Precinct.

While provisions at Clause 7.8 of the Wagga Wagga LEP 2010 have been required to be considered in development assessments at Cartwrights Hill to now, this planning proposal will ensure that the zoning and minimum lot size requirements applying to lands are clearly reflective of the potential for land use conflict at this location.

Lands adjacent the Special Activation Precinct at Cartwrights Hill and Byrnes Road will be rezoned to the RU6 Transition zone and have a minimum lot size requirement of 200 hectares installed. This change will prevent the intensification of residential land uses, which will otherwise likely result in exacerbated land use conflict at the edge of the Special Activation Precinct.

To make a submission persons should do so before 27 November 2020. Submissions are to be made in writing and delivered to Wagga Wagga City Council, mailed to the General Manager, Wagga Wagga City Council PO Box 20 Wagga Wagga NSW 2560, emailed to council@wagga.nsw.gov.au or via the form below.
