Let’s talk! How we communicate with our community

10 Mar 2017
CLOSED: This discussion has concluded. The discussion on Council’s social media presence indicated strong support for Council to host a Facebook page. This feedback was considered when Council made the decision to launch the City of Wagga Wagga Facebook page in January 2016. The page is an additional way for the community to have a conversation with Council, as well as providing information about events and services. You can like the page by searching ‘City of Wagga Wagga’ on Facebook.

G’day! Hello! Bonjour! How are ya?

We talk to each other in a lot of different ways, especially now in the age of smartphones and high speed internet.

From the gallery and library to roads and rubbish, Council is responsible for a wide range of services and projects. We want your help to make sure everyone can find out what they want to know as quickly and easily as possible.

The People’s Panel is a great example of a new way Council and the community can share ideas and we want to keep the conversation going.

We’d like to hear your thoughts about how Council communicates with you and talk about some different ways we keep you informed.

What do you want to know? Do you want to read, watch or listen?

Take the short survey and then head back to the forum to share your thoughts.

Here are a couple of talking points to get the conversation started:

  •  How can Council’s communication with you be improved?
  • Do you prefer printed information, or would you like to see more online communication through our website and social media?
  • What information do you want to see more or less of?
  • Council doesn’t currently have a Facebook page. Is this a communication tool you’d find useful?
