Promoting a healthy lifestyle with "Munch and Move"

17 Nov 2016

One of the easiest thing that we can do to influence children to be healthy, is promote the eating of healthy fruits and vegetables. We can also encourage them to be active.

Here at Wagga View HQ we partnered up with the experts in the field from the Murrumbidgee Local Health District Health Promotion team for Little Big Day Out to allow children to explore some healthy foods and get creative at the same time. Children were asked to make pictures with a selection of local fruit and vegetables.

The team shared information with parents and carers about promoting a healthy lifestyle. If you head to the "Munch & Move" website you can find all sorts of tips and tricks including recipes, games and tips for shopping healthy on a budget. You can also download the much and move sound track for FREE here which is full of songs to get your kids active.

Munch and Move also offers training and resources to educators working in the NSW early childhood education and care services. Why not ask your childcare service about it.

Thanks again to Murrumbidgee Local Health District Health promotion team for helping us out and letting us know about this great program. We would also like to thank Verducci's Produce for supplying us with some fresh local produce to share.
